There is a contest for Filipino/American students between the ages 8-25 years old about Philippines’ National Hero: Dr. Jose Rizal. If you are eligible to join, you are invited to participate in the said event. Huge cash prize awaits the winner of the contest!

You must hurry up, though, as there is a deadline for essay submission (December 13, 2008). Oratorical Presentation will be done on December 20, 2008 1PM-5PM at Five Corners Branch Library on Newark Avenue.

DR. JOSE RIZAL ESSAY AND ORATORICAL CONTEST 2008
Knights of Rizal, NJ Chapter and Ladies for Rizal, NJ Chapter in partnership with the Philippine Consulate General of New York present the Dr. Jose Rizal Essay and Oratorical Contest 2008 on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008. The contest will be held at the Five Corners Branch Library in Jersey City, NJ. The contest is open to all Filipino / American students enrolled in Elementary, High School and College between the ages 8 – 25 years old. Contestants are eligible to win top cash prizes, announced Sir Francis Sison, Chapter Commander, New Jersey Chapter.
“This year’s contest will have the widest possible outreach to the Filipino – American Community. For many children born here in the US, it may even be the first time they hear the name, Dr. Jose Rizal. We hope to inspire and spark the young minds to learn more about our beloved Philippine National hero, “remarked Overall Chairman, Sir Joey Mayo.
The Order of the Knights of Rizal and Ladies of Rizal are a civic and patriotic organizations recognized by law as an instrumentality by which the teachings of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal may be propagated among the Filipino people, and others who may believe in his teachings to the end that they may emulate and follow his examples. Aside from its being a civic and patriotic organization it is also cultural, non-sectarian, non-partisan and- non-racial. We ask for the help and support of the parents, teachers and the community to encourage our students to participate.
