Filipinos In JC (Jersey City, New Jersey) | JC, NJ Rotating Header Image

About

Jersey City is one big city where you can find a growing number of Filipinos. In my experience here, Filipinos who migrated here in JC are warm and hospitable. Some are already established here with their families and businesses, some are struggling with their immigration papers, and some are just new-comers.

My objective is to create an online community for Filipinos living in Jersey City — where we can share our stories, challenges, and other things. One of my aims is to connect Filipino JC residents using technology. Thus, FilipinosInJC.com was born.

This blog was launched sometime in March 2008.

Author

The site will be updated by me. I go by the name “Jose”, in honor of Philippine National Hero: Dr. Jose Rizal.

Scope and Limitations

The articles here will be everything about Fiipinos in Jersey City: news, people, events, local businesses, politics, everything! We can even talk about our immigration challenges… as long as it related to the niche, it is fine. However, we can also discuss something beyond Filipinos in Jersey City, such as Filipinos in other states, or Filipinos in the Philippines, and the like.

Categories

There are 19 pre-determined categories in this site. However, they will only appear in the sidebar once there is a post under it. We may or may not announce an addition of a category.

Five (5) Articles are shown on the frontpage, arranged from latest to oldest. To view old entries, simply navigate by clicking “Earlier Entries” located at the bottom of the current page.

Photos/Pictures/Videos

Some of the posts contain pictures related to the topic. As much as possible, I use original photos. However, I also borrow pictures from other resources and sources will be duly credited.

English or Tagalog?

I post in English, to conform with the blogging standards. But Tagalog is totally allowed. If you want to comment, you are free to use either English or Tagalog. So don’t be shy if you want to speak up! Just don’t use too much profanities. ;)

Want to Contribute?

As of the moment, there are two ways of contributing to this site: 1.) By commenting on the existing topics 2.) By emailing me your original article that you want to be published. However, I can not promise that your articles will be posted if the quality is poor. An article doesn’t have to be magnificent. As long as it is sensible with minimal grammatical errors (hey, nobody’s perfect! And I am not an “editor” by the way ;) ), your topic may be accepted.
